If you are asking in football, the most common difficult skill in every era is the long range shooting ability. The reasons for this are →

  1. Apart from freekicks, the running long shots are way more difficult as they demand high accuracy, power, speed, and precise timing.
  2. The wind conditions such as direction, velocity, etc. change with various stadiums and their locations.
  3. The Goalkeeper factor also plays a great role in these situations because if any of the above factors of the shot is absent or quite less than it becomes more easy for the goalkeeper to take on the ball with a small precision.

Many football greats would argue that dribbling/surpassing 4–5 opponent players is the most difficult skill to be possessed. But, the fact is any skill must provide the desired output in that field and in case of football the output is the GOAL itself. A goal decides the future of a player and his team simultaneously. That’s why logically, LONG RANGE SHOOTING ABILITY is the greatest skill a successful footballer has.

In my opinion there are three different players from different countries who possess this ability.

1.Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

The 35 years old Portuguese star has marked his name in three different countries till now. Ronaldo scores incredible goals from dead-ball situations, and he is also a killer when shooting from open play or a freekick. 

 According to stats his 117 goals came from long ranges both outside and inside the box. He is considered to be one the nightmares for many goalkeepers because they have no idea when the ball would come in.  

2.Roberto Carlos (Brazil)

His direction turning skill is still a talk of time in the world of football. Just watch his freekick in the 1997 clash between France and Brazil. I assure you that you’re going to fall in love with football again.

3.David Beckham (England)

Besides considering him one of the most handsome footballer in the world, he is also one of the highest freekick goal scorer with 65 goals to his name.
